Lyu Chirkova

Lyu Chirkova (b. 1993, Mozhga, Udmurt Republic, Russia) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and creative director.

Working across video, painting, sculpture, wearable objects, installations, digital and performative art, as well as AI-driven visual storytelling, Lyu’s practice sits at the intersection of art and design - deliberately unstable, often irreverent, and playfully sugar-coated with a sharp aftertaste.

Her distinctive visual language blends bold colors, childhood iconography, psychological imagery, and pop-cultural debris, all filtered through layers of sarcasm, loneliness, and conflicted femininity. For Lyu, sculpture becomes self-styling, and design functions as an emotional prosthetic - vibrant, playful, and biting:the darker the impulse, the brighter the colour.

She is the founder of the INDIGO FLOW creative studio and the INDIGO STUFF clothing brand. Between 2017 and 2020, Lyu collaborated with Adobe Inc., and from 2017 to 2024, she served as the art director for the band POSHLAYA MOLLY. Her work has gained recognition across Europe, including at the Berlin Music Video Awards.

Today, Lyu continues to explore a diverse range of mediums, creating surreal, bold, and spiky works that build a post-ironic girlhood universe - where kitsch becomes catharsis and every object is a stage.
